Max shouts from the mountain top

You who are yet young, on the cold heights build strongholds for your children and go forth to fight the battle for their future. For when London is both Cairo and Atlantis Scotland shall be the new Greece. Build your houses strong on solid rock and give them their own power to last when the world around crumbles. Seed the fields with charcoal to make them last when their goodness would be washed away. Build the hedgerows on the contours and the jetties 11m high for there the water shall ride when the land called the green land is green once more. Build a floating Athens in Inverness and a Cairo of ships in London. For if the battle is lost we must look to the future. Fight to the last drop of blood but if we do not succeed let our children live. But when they see what we have wrought they will cry and though we wish for the world to be as it was when we were born, if we loose then, it shall not be the same for many thousand years 13 degrees is a long way to climb and it will take a long time to come back down again. If we make our own great flood to down in and light the fire to cook ourselves it is our children who will eat the bitter stew. Pray that the one who made us shall save us from our own folly.

In the silence

In the silence
Of a void
A lonely planet
Bathed in light
Midst the depths
Of space
From it I look
Out upon the stars
Dream of planets
Round other stars
But this is my
World
My mind
I can never visit
Another world
I am
This world
I can speak
To other planets
Touching their atmospheres
But never go there
Never know them
For I do not know
Myself
And am not there
Cannot be another
Person
Can only look
And touch only
The edges
And my thoughts
Lost in the empty void
Translated
Changed
Gone.

for lack of anything else to say another poem written last weekend - the last one
Hey - this one gets quite metaphorical doesn't it. :-)

Flittering

Thoughts flittering through my
Head
Like exotic humming birds
Beating 50 times a second
Gone in an instant
Moved on
Pushed away
But as they fly
They're changing
Me
But these words remain

Sorry for even more poetry written at the weekend but there is nothing from current affairs I want to talk about - your free tosuggestt something though.

Echoes

Echoes of old songs
Spinning through my mind
Old words, from others tongues
Speaking my thoughts
And with in the island
Of my mind
The words sing to me
In the rustling of the leaves
And I look upon the sea
Wondering at the beauty of the
World
A lonely island
An infinite sea

I could cry - for beauty broken

I could cry
For beauty broken

As the world
Whistles past
The window pane

All around
The world I see
Amazing beauty

But here and there
Everywhere
The touch of man
A flaw
On a perfect world

Slowly fading from the world
Bushes growing
On cutting slopes

sometimes beauty greater
than before

But still the taint of man
It spreads

Beauty returning
But I could cry
For beauty broken

Another attempt at poetry - Racism has no place

I wrote this a whie ago, anyway read on

White Mixed Asian Black - Red

Red is the colour of my blood
Red is the colour of me
Red is the colour of unity
You my brother are also red

When spilled your blood
Also glistens wetly on
The ground

Again a brother spilling
His brothers blood
On the thirsty ground

Again a brothers skull broken
Like that first time
Long ago

That brothers blood soaked
Into the first corn field
Staining the ground red

The thirsty ground
Chokes on the sticky
Red blood

Drowning on the blood
Of millions
spilled by their brothers

all are brothers by the blood
and if you spill
anothers blood

Whatever the colour of
Their skin

Their blood is red to

They are your brother

And you spill your brothers
Blood
Thou shalt not murder

And the creed and the colour
And the name don’t matter
All are your brothers.

My blog - generally

If anyone has anything that they want to say about this blog generally or anything they suggest I blog about or look at comment on here.
This could help me to improve my blog and so improve the quality of what you read here - really its in your own interests :-)

They're changing our minds

Look here for source
apparantly our minds are being changed by electronic mutimedia and mind altering drugs.(Ritalin)
And they are not checking to see whether this is a good thing before the mess with our minds.
shocking.
By writing this I am changing my mind - but then for better or for worse
They do realy need to look at this though.
will the next generation be a generation of moral-less electronic junkies - are we?
I hope not.
:-)
posted on environment: oh dear - US emmissions increase by record amount

China

Just in case anyone liked the Chinese government.
They operate on prisoners while they are still alive to remove organs to sell for transport - they do not use anesthetic. - this is not nice to say the least. - the prisoners frequently die during the operation - their crime - what they believe.
(source Epoch times reliable?(enough data was shown for me to believe it))
They also lock people up because of what they believe (not just Christians)
All they care about is money - the doctors who cut people up without anesthetic do not know what they are doing is wrong.
Oh and they use the dead bodies to make products for sale - for some reason this reminds me of the human skin lampshades of the Third Reich.
I would not recommend China as a holiday destination - nice country - nice people - extremely bad government.
And the guardian today (20/4/06) had an article about this - you heard it from me first.
guardian article here
Oh and they use dead prisoners skin to test cosmetics - not that I would ever buy cosmetics - but maybe they should be labeled - tested on dead people and then all the animal rights extremists can go over to China and defeat communism - LOL. Oh the Chinese also operate on living animals - they skin them alive.

The advert enforcer

source here - read
If they can enforce adverts it should be possible to write a program to automaticaly skip adverts?
Anyway I most definetly would not want an advert enforcer. or to pay to remove it.
All a channel would have to do to stop you leaving would be to say that the programs were adverts - malicious televistion channels siezing control of your television sets and forcing you to watch adverts - no thank you.

Since we will soon be moving to watching television over the internet, someone somewhere would be sure to write a program to undo this if they put it on computers.
The BBC is putting all its content on the internet - and Google video has lots of stuff as have other people

enjoy

The meaning of today - Easter Sunday

Today is the day that we remeber that Jesus Rose from the dead and showed himeslf to many people over the next 40 days.
Jesus rose because he had defeated death, destroyed our sin, suffered for eternity^n (n being the number of eternities) in our place, and to show us the way to him. 'You came from heaven to earth to show the way from the earth to the cross my debt to pay, from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky - Lord I lift your name on high' - (Lord I lift your name on high - as recorded by Sonicflood)

Injustice - an attempt and poetry - and philosophy

I wrote this a year ago for reasons I cannot remember.
I think it is quite good - but then that is me. :-)

Injustice

The world is not fair
I tell you
The world is not fair.
That you can be
Blamed
For what you have not done
Have preached against
Have fought against
It is not fair that
Lies
Could fill you so
Full of pain
And guilt that is not yours

Why o why can the truth
Just be free.
Undeserved punishments
And others pain
In a dying world

Of the greedy and vain
Of the fierce and starving
While the good die alongside
The bad
Is that fair?

But we brought it on ourselves
So cannot complain
It is our fault that we are punished
For what we did not do
So here we stand
Justice brought by injustice

Or so it might seem to some
But no that justice is
No longer needed

So see the light and take the path
For the price of our suffering
Has been paid and all that we miss
Will be brought back in the end
Ten times as great.

See the world and let it sing
The song of happiness forgotten
Of forgotten times between the stars
Of peace and beauty unsurpassed
Of the perfection that was
And still lingers on
Look and see the hidden beauty
That lies there

Take the time to sand and stare
And see the beauty hidden only
By our minds
And see the world again
As if for the first time
And wonder at the beauty here
Created.
And think that this
Was made by
Chance?
And know the light that shines.

The meaing of Good Friday

The meaning of today (Good Friday) is to remember that Jesus died for us on the cross. He died that we might live.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Luke 23:34 And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
Through the death of Jesus we gained forgiveness for our sins if only we asked to be forgiven.
Everything is being supplanted by consumerism every day of the year we are assaulted by adverts telling us that we will only be happy if we buy their product. And the hole inside your heart grows the more you buy to try to fill it. Only God can truly fill the hole.
But Christmas and Easter have been particularly badly hit by consumerism. The gift of life has been changed to be the gift of a lot of money to the companies the whole meaning is being changed.

Biblical contradictions

You say there are contradictions
I say you do not understand
Have you read the book you criticize
Do you know that God gave one law and we broke it
So he told us all the laws to live by
And we broke them all
And so he said give to me the work of the sweat of your brow
And I will wipe your slate clean again
But it must be the perfect work
Living work
To replace your life with its that you might live
And again we denied him
So he sent his only Son – Part of himself
Feeling all the pain we felt – and loving us more than we could imagine
He bore pain beyond imagining
And forgave us
Though we hated him
Died for us
Though we cursed him
Gave his life for ours
Though we killed him
Took our sins away
Gave us a clean sheet – his
Fought death and pain and evil
Faced an eternity of torment
Won
Was Victorius
Defeated death and pain and suffering and evil
Returned
Showed us the way
Rose prepare a place
And gave us another part of himself to live within us
And if we only let him in
He will save us
Give us eternal life
Beyond time
In heaven – perfection
‘Revelation 21:5 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."’
And we will be the children of God
And I would that none that read this could say to me on the last day that I did not tell you – for I have.
And I would that you investigate what I have said
And come to the truth
John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

This is my culture

That I would know salvation and tell others of it when so many are lost
That I would teach of peace when others scream of war
That I would share when others would keep
That I would speak of love when others speak of hate
That I would know God when so many deny him
That I would turn the other cheek when others would strike back
That I would be a steward when others destroy
That I would buy a green machine while others drive SUVs
This is what I would be
This is my counter culture – my own – my religion – my reason – my life
Now live with it and I will live with you.In peace and harmony

The Nuclear option – not an option

Definitely not nuclear and never nuclear.
It can never be safe enough, it can never not produce radioactive waste and it will produce CO2 when being built and throughout its life. Fission power if utilised fully would run out in 15 years.
Fusion looked good and is probably still worth investing in but 50 years is an optimistic estimate for it coming on line - and it is even more prone to melt down - if the magnetic field fails it will melt very quickly - think of the heart of the sun in an eggshell - just kept from touching the sides by a magnetic field - H bombs are much more powerful than A bombs. Therefore a fusion plant melt down will be much worse than a fission plant melt down.
The future is renewables - solar, wind, wave, heat pump, tidal, geothermal, hydro, random kinetic.
The sooner the better the larger the scale the better and mandatory to the greatest possible extent.
Also efficiency and lots of it - efficiency increases year on year for everything possible.
In the civil war on Global Warming failure is not an option.
I would live to see the morrow and like living there.
