I found this on my desk when I came home I think it might be slightly out of date - though it was only published in 1991. I think code has moved on since then, still the principles are the same.
Qbasic is unfortunately no longer supported on any new computers. It is not too hard to learn the basic principles are the same and you no longer have to specify which line you are on. and they can do things Qbasic never could.
Max Randor is a Pen Name - not a real name. I chose Max Randor because some people said I looked like Max and Randor is the surname of a Hero from a Science Fiction book.
I wanted a Pen Name because there is a danger of identity theft in producing online data,
because Max Randor is as far as I know a unique name and for all the other reasons people have ever had Pen names.
Those who know me do not use my real name - comments that do not comply will not be published. Sorry.
Rude and offensive comments will not be published- this will only occur if they are very offensive - but I don't want them to even go there.
We will try to consider each others views carefuly and rationaly. Coming from different viewpoints and having different premises you may find it hard to understand. We can however always try
My account on Wiki and Newscientist is Max Randor and on Gurardian Max Randor1 (due to misspeling my email argh)

At least I could program in QBasic - the later languages are so much harder to learn.
